What is Biomass ?


At Vanderveldnen, biomass consist of vegetal forestry material which is released during pruning, cutting & thinning in woods and landscapes. This vegetal material may consist of: 

  • Stemwood
  • Branches
  • Stumps

Depending on the type of vegetal material which is used, a vary of products may be produced.

Producttypes: 

  • Stemwood chips
  • Woodchips
  • Shreds (10-200 mm)
  • Shreds (>200 mm)

Why Biomass ?
More and more companies chose green energy above fossil fuels.  Since wood is a renewable energy source, it is highly suitable for use as biomass material. In this way, Vandervelden and the companies that purchase biomass contribute to a better environment.
